Why coaching? Why coaching with me?

Life coaching is a powerful tool for personal and professional development, offering support and guidance across diverse areas. Whether you’re looking to advance your career, improve your relationships, boost your confidence, or find a better work-life balance, a skilled life coach can help you navigate these challenges and achieve your goals.

Some key areas where coaching can make a significant impact include:

  • Career development and transitions
  • Personal growth and self-discovery
  • Stress management and well-being
  • Goal setting and achievement
  • Leadership and communication skills
  • Time management and productivity
  • Relationship enhancement

As a coach, I specialise in the Solution Focused (SF) method, an incredibly creative and flexible approach. This method is unique because I’m “only” providing the framework through my questions – the “content” of our conversation is solely provided by you, the client. This ensures that our sessions are tailored specifically to your needs and goals.

The beauty of the approach

The SF approach is truly a gem in coaching, therapy and personal development. Its beauty lies in its simplicity and effectiveness, making it suitable for virtually anyone, regardless of their background, age, or challenges.

One of the most appealing aspects of the SF approach is its non-intrusive nature. Unlike other coaching or therapy methods that might delve deep into past traumas or require extensive self-analysis, the SF approach focuses primarily on the present and future. We work together to identify your strengths, resources, and past successes, building these to create positive change.

This forward-looking perspective means you don’t need to share anything you’re uncomfortable with. We respect your boundaries and work within the framework you provide. The SF approach believes that you are the expert in your own life, and my role is to help you uncover and utilise the solutions that already exist within you.

While the SF approach is gentle and respectful, it’s important to note that it still involves hard work. Change and growth require effort and commitment. However, the work is focused on constructive, positive steps forward rather than dwelling on problems or past issues. This makes the process feel more manageable and often more enjoyable for clients.

Another beautiful aspect of the SF approach is its adaptability. Whether you’re dealing with personal issues, professional challenges, or a mix of both, the SF method can be applied effectively. It’s equally valuable for someone looking to improve their communication skills as it is for someone trying to overcome anxiety or make a significant life decision.

The SF approach also emphasises small, achievable steps. We celebrate every bit of progress, no matter how small it might seem. This focus on incremental change helps build momentum and confidence, making larger goals feel more attainable over time.

One thing you’ll notice about my coaching style is that I usually lead sessions in a “light-hearted” way. But don’t be fooled – this doesn’t mean I’m not taking our work seriously. On the contrary, coaching is a partnership, and showing up authentically is crucial for building trust and fostering open communication. My approachable demeanour is designed to help you feel comfortable and empowered throughout our journey together.

I’ll be honest: I’m a Solution Focused nerd. I’ve explored other coaching perspectives and methodologies, but I always return to this approach because it aligns perfectly with my values and coaching philosophy. It’s not just a technique for me; it’s a way of thinking and problem-solving I’m passionate about sharing with my clients.
